hot pear & gorgonzola baguette
Do you need an idea for apero snacks? An easy dinner? A starter for guests? Then try this one, it is tasty indeed! The combination of blue cheese and pears is amazing, but use a rich and creamy gorgonzola, not some cheap blue cheese.
Ingredients for two:
2 TBS of olive oil
2 TBS of butter
2 Pears, in small cubes
2 TBS brown sugar
Kress for decoration
Cut the baguettes lengthwise in halves, then cut according to your liking (about 10 – 15 cm, depending on the size of the baguette in order not to waste food). Place them side down in a grill pan with a little olive oil until they get crispy. Remove from the pan, add some butter to the pan and shortly (about five minutes) sear the pear slices in the hot butter in order for them so soften up.
Mix the pear with the cheese and combine by stirring, then spread it on the bread.
In a small frying pan medium heat add one TBS of butter, the sugar and wait until in caramelizes (don’t stir), then add the walnuts and toss. Switch off the stove, let cool down a bit.
Optional: Sprinkle some more gorgonzola on top and grill the baguette facing up for two minutes in the oven. Like this, the cheese taste intensifies.
Add the caramelized walnuts on top and decorate with cress.
Serve with a simple garden salad for a delicious vegetarian meal.
