peanut butter, bacon & banana bikinis
You might be surprised by the combination. But on a road trip through California I had a toast with sliced bananas and peanut butter, topped with a splash of honey. Amazing! I added honey glazed bacon to give it a crunch ... believe me, you won't be disappointed!
Don't be picky on the ingredients, as it is according to individual liking. Therefore I don't want to give you exact quantities, just have the ingredients ready and build up your toasts as you feel:
- bacon (raw, not smoked)
- peanut butter (not crunchy)
- white toast
Spread a little warm butter on both sides of the toasts and place these in a dry, non-sticking frying pan. Pan fry on medium heat for about five minutes, just until the toasts get browned, on both sides. Set aside.
In the same pan, add the bacon (no need to add any oil) and fry until crispy. At the end, add a little honey so the bacon gets glazed and shiny.
On the toasts, spread some peanut butter, add the sliced bananas and top with the glazed bacon.
You can eat them "open", or closed as a sandwich, as shown on the picture below. You will never forget the smooth combination of these fine ingredients, added with the crunchiness of the bacon!
