During our holidays in beautiful Piemonte we discovered a true jewel with authentic, local cuisine. In a small village on a hill near Asti, called Cisterne d’Asti, you find the picturesque restaurant Garibaldi.

Excellent service in a beautiful setting and outdoor seating with a view. The food is local, very basic Italian cuisine of the highest quality. First, four antipasti are served, on a surprise basis, followed by their local “primi”, homemade pasta such as the famous “plin” or tagliatelle with salsiccia.

As a main, we had the “fritto misto”, a plate full of different meats and cuts, including breaded steak, amaretti, apple, liver, pork knuckle and fennel. Incredible wines and breath-taking food at very reasonable prices. An absolute must-try when you visit Piemonte!
