restaurant tip hamburg: izakaya

This is probably the only restaurant „chain“ I like. The one in Hamburg is located in the SIR NIKOLAI hotel, which is by the way amazing as well! A small and very stylish hotel just near the harbor, all modern and cozy at the same time!

But let’s go back to Izakaya. Modern Japanese cuisine mixed with European flavors and tastes. OK, it is really expensive, but worth it! The combination of tastes and textures in these plates is crazy, they even manage to present a luxury popcorn version and make it special, served as a course. The gyoza filled with wagyu beef and foie gras….. no comment! I think I never had something as delicious as that - I will try to do that at home! Also, the kales salad with truffles, or the ribeye steak with three Japanese sauces to chose from - wow!

You have to try it yourself, either in Hamburg (very nice, international, professional and cool staff) or in another city such as NYC or Amsterdam.
