taste my swiss city: geneva
As a proud Swiss who loves to eat, I came across this programme from the official Swiss tourism agency “my Switzerland” where you can get to know a Swiss city from the culinary point of view. Basically you pick a city you want to visit, then you do an unguided culinary tour where you stop at several restaurants, brasseries or bars. You get some food and drinks at every stop, and at the same time you get a better knowledge about the city and its groove.
I picked Geneva, a beautiful city with a strong international touch due to the presence of several global organisations. The tour starts somewhere near the lake and then takes you to the old town, up hill near the cathedral. You get a good impression of the city, not only from its culinary side.
The first stop was lunch, in a really nice place I got a juicy burger and a glass of wine! Yumm!!
Then I continued to a bar, a traditional “real Swiss” restaurant in the old town as well as a Café, known for its pastries displayed in an old piano.
What I liked about this tour is the fact that you don’t have a clue which places you will visit beforehand, it is like a surprise, and the places have been chosen by a local who really knows the “food-highlights”. Also, you can start whenever you want and make a stop at the lake or at a museum before attacking the next culinary highlight.

Enjoy your Swiss city - I will definitely do it again!
